360 Adapter Box Networking Wireless

To link your x-box into a home network you will need a 360 wireless adapter which these are not cheap when compared with PC Network Routers and Switches, and will cost about $100 (US Dollars).

You will also need to have an account with a Broadband service provider. Response (ping) times are all-important for responsive gaming. Many gamers say that you'll want a service that provides at LEAST 1.5Mbps download speed and 384Kbps upload speed to have good online gaming.

However, what you want and what you will be able to obtain will depend upon the type of broadband connection you buy AND the fastest speed of the service available at and from your local exchange.

The lowest cost, and by far the most popular, broadband service is that provided through the fixed telephone line. You will normally need to be renting a fixed telephone line to start with before you can sign up with a broadband (dsl) provider. A filter will be needed which is fitted at the point where your telephone line enters the house, and this enables phone calls to be made and received while the broadband connection is in use.

Of course there are alernatives to fixed telephone line dsl, but we don't have the space to cover those here.
